DRR (Members Only) Day trip to QE Country Park

May 19 @ 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

***** DRR MEMBERS ONLY!***** Only a tenner! Logistics: Meet at ASDA, Canford Heath (where you can park free all day) from 08.30 to be away by 08.45. Aiming to get there around 10.00. Back by 17.00 approx. Grade: Medium Queen Elizabeth Country Park is our closest trail centre just north of Portsmouth and has both way marked blue and red graded trails. There is also a selection of bridleways and off-piste trails. We usually split into groups for those who want to explore. The aim is to pack in as much riding as we can manage. Not suitable for beginners due to the hilly terrain but there will be an option for tired legs to finish early so the others can do a bit more. To secure your place you need to pay in advance. Places are secured on a first come first served basis. https://dorsetroughriders.co.uk/events-calendar-and-booking/

9:00 am

A Bite of Wight

May 19 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Lymington Ferry terminal, Undershore Rd
Lymington, SO41 5SB
+ Google Map

A fantastic day out on the Isle of Wight, for a full-on epic ride, loads of climbing, loads of great single track, some technical. This is a 30 miler with brief chat stops but no lunch break until the end. It's not for beginners, it's a tough day out and technical in places but anyone who regularly climbs up and down the Purbecks should be fine. Aim to be at ferry terminal for 0900 if you need to buy your ticket. Park in Lymington outskirts, before you go over the level crossing, otherwise you're left with the expensive ferry car park. If you're organised, in advance you can exchange Tesco clubcard vouchers for WightLink ferry tickets. Must be done in advance, allow at least 3 days for the codes to come through, but £5 in vouchers gets you £15 towards the £17 ticket price. Ferry leaves 0915 sharp and we usually catch either the 1520 or 1620 ferry back to Lymington. Call Neil if you're coming or need more info, ride will be cancelled if it's very wet as it's no fun on the wet, slippy chalk! (07876 296125)
